ABOUT

Live the Cadena Gallery experience

Our apartments are situated in the heart of medieval city Kraków in a building from 1396 and the design of the apartments is inspired by the Polish painters Jan Matejko, Józef Mehoffer, Stanisław Wyspiański and Witkacy.. Each apartment is named after one of them like Mehoffer or Witkacy. The interior feel is a mix of peaceful zen and touches of ancient royal style.

The building

Cadena Gallery's building, located at Grodzka 50, was built in 1396. The first to ever own it was the Royal Baker, after which it belonged to the head of the guard and the Jesuits. During the sixties, the building served as a famous hippie nightclub called The Yellow Submarine. We're always looking to find more historical facts about our building. Feel free to reach out on our social media below if you have any information worth sharing!

The city

Legend has it that Krakow was founded by the mythical ruler, Krakus, who built the city high above a cave occupied by the fearsome Wawel Dragon, Smok Wawelski. In fact it was built in the 7th century and is one of the oldest cities in Poland.

Today, Krakow attracts around 10 million tourists every year, who are keen to explore the beautiful medieval old town and soak up the city’s buzzing, artistic vibe.
